The Rules of the Game

Tom Clancy's Politika is a game of strategy and negotiation for three to eight players. Each player represents a faction vying for political control of modern-day Russia after the death of President Yeltsin. The goal of the game is to accumulate more influence than any other player after a specified number of turns.

Influence is measured in influence tokens. Over the course of the game, players attempt to remove the tokens of other factions and replace them with their own. This is done either through challenges, deals or trades.

After the number of rounds chosen at the beginning of the game, players count up the number of influence tokens they have on the board, plus money to buy influence token, and the player with the greatest number of tokens is declared the winner of the game and in control of the future of Russia.

Each player goes through the following 5 steps for his/her turn.

Player Turn:

  1. Earns Money
  2. Move their pieces
  3. Make Trades and/or sets up alliances
  4. Make Challenges
  5. Buys action cards

Challenging is one way to increase your influence token count and decrease another players influence token count..

While all this is going on, you can Chat with the other players. You can chat to Everyone, Customize your message to only a few other players, talk only to your Ally and even Eavesdrop on other players conversations.
